A Tree Hunt in Great Bowden Park
On 1st October our Years 1 & 2 went on a trip to learn all about trees...
On leaving school, the pupils along with our volunteer helpers (thank you parents and grandparents) walked all the way to Great Bowden Park. They travelled down the very big hill, over a bridge, waved at the trains and arrived in the park ready to hunt for leaves and trees!
Armed with identification sheets, the children worked out which trees were which, plotted the location of all the Horse Chestnut Trees, did some bark rubbings and collected conkers. They also learn about a very old tree in the park that is being protected by the Parish Council as it's thought to date back hundreds and hundreds of years.
It was a brilliant morning out and we can't wait to do another trip soon!
