School Council & Ambassadors
School Council
Our school council is now up and running for this year. Each class from Year 2 upwards voted for who would be their representatives, and we have 16 Council members currently.
This year the Council chose to launch with Kindness Month - an initiative that saw 17 days of kindness throughout January. Every child in the school was encouraged to take part in daily kindness activities, from holding the door open for someone, to paying compliments and chatting with new people during lunch.
Their next focus will be on the environment to coincide with the development of the new sensory garden, more information will follow soon.
Wellbeing Ambassadors
Working alongside the School Council, we have 7 Wellbeing Ambassadors, all representatives from Year 5 and 6. They have undertaken Digital Wellbeing training and plan to give an assembly on best practice for screen time and online usage. They are also working with Mrs Jennings, our Wellbeing Lead, to create lunchtime activities and play baskets for use by children throughout the school.
Sports Ambassadors (& Playground Leaders)
Our Sports Ambassadors, one Year 6 pupil from each House, champion sporting activity within school. They receive training from the South Leicestershire School Sports Partnership and help to activate healthy campaigns within school. They support on KS1 Sports Day to ensure all the races run smoothly.
During the term they are joined by our Playground Leaders from Years 5 and 6 who work to organise lunchtime games across the Year groups.
