Residential Trips
We run two residential trips a year - one for our Year 4 children and the other for our Year 6. These trips help children develop their independence and resilience, while trying new activities in a safe and well-managed setting.
Year 6 Trip
This year our Year 6 children will visit PGL Beam House in Devon for 5 days and 4 nights, from Monday 2nd June to Friday 6th June 2025. The children are accompanied by staff from Ridgeway, including Year 6 staff. While there, they will take part in a variety of activities - including some of the below:
Abseiling, Archery, Quad Biking, Canoeing, Challenge Course, Climbing, Survivor, High Ropes, Problem-solving, Vertical challenge, Jacob’s ladder, Giant swing, Trapeze and Fencing
A Parents' Information evening will be held during the Spring Term. Please keep an eye on your emails for further information.
Year 4 Trip
Each year we endeavour to take our Year 4s away on a three night residential trip to Beaumanor Hall in Leicestershire in May. This is a council-owned and run facility that caters especially for school residential trips. Complete with bunk-bed dormitories, onsite catering facilities and access to fantastic outdoor activities, this is the highlight of many of our pupils' year.
This residential trip not only allows children their first taste of independence away from family, in a safe and secure setting, but it also encourages them to develop their confidence and resilience as they try new sports and work together as a team - oh and did we mention 'hide and seek' in the cellars with torches and hot chocolate feasts.
During the trip the children will build a land buggy out of ropes, barrels and wood, they will go kayaking, pond dipping and practice their archery skills alongside many other adventures. The trip is accompanied by staff from Ridgeway, including class teachers from Year 4.
Information on the Residential Trip is sent to parents via email and a Parents' Information evening will be held in the run-up to the event.
Payments
To ensure all our families can access the Residential Trips, we offer a payment plan via ParentPay. This allows for smaller, monthly instalments. Please check with the Office for further details.
